Can you imagine....

What it would be like to go to your first day of school with an empty backpack? Your new teacher tells your class to take out a pencil and a frown comes across your face because you don’t have one? This happens every year to thousands of students in Gwinnett County. This year GAM is going to do something for these children! We are going to sponsor three Title I schools in Gwinnett County and put together Smile Packs for classrooms! We will be gathering supplies for two elementary schools and one middle school. Below are the items we will be including in each smile pack. Our starting goal is to provide 5 packs for each school, 15 packs in total.

Elementary Smile Pack:
#2 pencils
construction paper
loose leaf paper (wide ruled)
scissors
glue sticks
pink block erasers
crayons
colored pencils

Middle School Smile Pack:
#2 pencils
loose leaf paper
pens- blue and black (not gel ink)
Highlighters
Colored pencils
index cards

Moderators and managers will be collecting donations of these supplies at every GwinnettAreaMommies event starting TODAY through August 9th! If you can't attend an event but would like to donate, please send an email to tracy@gwinnettareamommies.com to make other arrangements for drop-off.

If you would like more info about this school supply drive and other ways that GwinnettAreaMommies supports our local community, please join us today.
